I've beaten igor, the lion... Yesterday it was my first month birthday (quite a special day) and i showed igor who's boss... hehe... He's quite soft and squicky really, and he's got an ant on his tongue... Funny little animal, well... little ? ;)

football fan?
Ilia will be a great big footballfreak. If he doesn't like it, his grandad and most of my friends will make him ;) His dad subscribed him for Club Brugge already, my uncle will train him in his team, and I got this send in the mail by Andy. Guess he'll have some time to make up his mind, right?
I'm still hoping that he will be a balletdancer ;))

mum to be
well, it's the final days for me and my big belly ;) Soon the wee one will be out, and my life will change drastically. It all happened so fast, getting pregnant as by accident, and now i'm about to give birth to a wee human being, or at least, i hope... what if it is a frog or a turtle? ;)) (my worst reoccuring nightmare)
If the muppet isn't coming out by itself, then they will start the delivery on tuesdaynight, the 21st... They don't want to risk it staying in there for too long (placenta failures, breathingproblems, hazards for both me and the little monster...)
I've enjoyed my pregnancy, wasn't sick, only had some moodswings caused by pregnancyhormones (yes, they do excist and they're hell when they start being , well, moody...), loved the many friendly words that were said to me by complete and utter strangers, loved the tons of caressings my belly had to endure during the last two months ;) As funny as it may sound, i'll miss being pregnant, but i'll love my wee little freggle when it's finally out...
now, only hope for the best, that he/she is in good health, has a good appetite and is a sound sleeper ;) I'll keep you posted...

18.08.1990 - 7.6.2007

Odie has come to pass. My lovely white fluffy deaf blind senile dog has passed away. Even in his old days he still tried to swim, but he couldn't play footy anymore. Every time you cuddled him he trembled.
He has had a wonderful life, he was almost 17, that's 116 in human years...
I will miss him, he's been a big part of my life afterall... Met zijn pootjes en vooral zijn nageltjes op het parket, trippel trippel... So please, when you this, take a moment and think about him, even if you didn't know the smelly dog...
But i absolutely adored his nose, which was the only part of him that still worked
and still was as black as when he was a puppy...

kiezen?
Kies diervriendelijk, ze hebben ons tenslotte nooit iets verkeerd gedaan... En de website heeft de meest schattige katjes ;)
Mijn hartje smelt al bij het zien van de kittens...
Check de diervriendelijkheid van jouw partij and laugh or weep ;)

all families are psychotic
"Our lives are geared mainly to deflect the darts thrown at us by the laws of probability. The moment we're able, we insulate ourselves from random acts of hate and destruction. It's always been there - in the neighbourhoods we built, the walls between our houses, the wariness with which we treat the unknown.
Ond person in six million will be struck by lightning. Fifteen people in a hundred will experience clinical depression. One women in sixteen will experience breast cancer. (...)
A day in which nothing bad happens is a miracle, a day in which all the things that could have gone wrong didn't. The dull day is a triumph of the human spirit, and boredom is a luxury unprecendented in the history of our species"
Quote from 'all families are psychotic'
wonderful novel by douglas coupland
the book was litteraly devoured by my cats,
thank god i already finished the first chapter

books
Ok, need some advice on which books to buy. I've recently bought two 'easy reading' novels (good laughs, or a great emotional crusade)
'Actually Merde' about a Englishguy in France, and
'Queen Mum'. I also bought
'all families are neurotic' by the lovely douglas coupland. Haven't read it so far,but since we've got a very long weekend, and it will rain cats and dogs (as long as they're not my cats ;o)) i will have loads of time to read, but unfortunately, no inspiration....
Now, I like the weird, funny novels, so if you've got some advice what to buy... SHOOT! Thanks a bunch (of daisies).

blind melon

I don't feel the suns comin' out today
its staying in,
its gonna find another way.
As I sit here in this misery,
I don't think I'll ever see the sun from here.
And oh as I fade away,
they'll all look at me and say,
and they'll say,
Hey look at him!
I'll never live that way.
But that's okay
they're just afraid to change.
When you feel your life ain't worth living
you've got to stand up
and take a look around you
then a look way up to the sky.
And when your deepest thoughts are broken,
keep on dreaming boy,
cause when you stop dreamin' it's time to die.
And as we all play parts of tomorrow,
some ways will work
and other ways we'll play.
But I know we all can't stay here forever,
so I want to write my words on the face of today.
and then they'll paint it
And oh as I fade away,
they'll all look at me and
they'll say,
Hey look at him and where he is these days.
When life is hard, you have to change.
Written in 1989 by shannon hoon, and altho he tragically died on october 1995, his lyrics are brilliant and so true.
