all families are psychotic

"Our lives are geared mainly to deflect the darts thrown at us by the laws of probability. The moment we're able, we insulate ourselves from random acts of hate and destruction. It's always been there - in the neighbourhoods we built, the walls between our houses, the wariness with which we treat the unknown.
Ond person in six million will be struck by lightning. Fifteen people in a hundred will experience clinical depression. One women in sixteen will experience breast cancer. (...)
A day in which nothing bad happens is a miracle, a day in which all the things that could have gone wrong didn't. The dull day is a triumph of the human spirit, and boredom is a luxury unprecendented in the history of our species"
Quote from 'all families are psychotic'
wonderful novel by douglas coupland
the book was litteraly devoured by my cats,
thank god i already finished the first chapter

books

Ok, need some advice on which books to buy. I've recently bought two 'easy reading' novels (good laughs, or a great emotional crusade)
'Actually Merde' about a Englishguy in France, and
'Queen Mum'. I also bought
'all families are neurotic' by the lovely douglas coupland. Haven't read it so far,but since we've got a very long weekend, and it will rain cats and dogs (as long as they're not my cats ;o)) i will have loads of time to read, but unfortunately, no inspiration....
Now, I like the weird, funny novels, so if you've got some advice what to buy... SHOOT! Thanks a bunch (of daisies).

blind melon

I don't feel the suns comin' out today
its staying in,
its gonna find another way.
As I sit here in this misery,
I don't think I'll ever see the sun from here.
And oh as I fade away,
they'll all look at me and say,
and they'll say,
Hey look at him!
I'll never live that way.
But that's okay
they're just afraid to change.
When you feel your life ain't worth living
you've got to stand up
and take a look around you
then a look way up to the sky.
And when your deepest thoughts are broken,
keep on dreaming boy,
cause when you stop dreamin' it's time to die.
And as we all play parts of tomorrow,
some ways will work
and other ways we'll play.
But I know we all can't stay here forever,
so I want to write my words on the face of today.
and then they'll paint it
And oh as I fade away,
they'll all look at me and
they'll say,
Hey look at him and where he is these days.
When life is hard, you have to change.
Written in 1989 by shannon hoon, and altho he tragically died on october 1995, his lyrics are brilliant and so true.

prison break

My lovely yellow bird took his chance while i was in Trier, Germany. I know it's my fault, I shouldn't have gone to Germany ;) but he managed to escape from his cage and check out my living room and the especially the curtains. Basil and Hobbes (my two feline friends) were so excited about his visit. He spent at least 26 hours roaming free. (I know because a friend of mine came and took care of the cats and didn't have time to catch Kasper)... Anyway, when i got home, he was on top of the curtain, and just came to me because he was starving. So, now, i fed him, gave him some fresh water in his private pool, and he looks happy now, eventho he's hurt his wing while 'travelling'. I guess Basil and Hobbes didn't hurt him too bad because Kasper still speaks the language of cats... Yep, he meows. Freakily weird but who the heck isn't? ;)

A little purr to you, 'grin' :) Oh, and Trier was great ;) More about that later...

the fray

Step one you say we need to talk He walks you say sit down it's just a talk He smiles politely back at you You stare politely right on through Some sort of window to your right As he goes left and you stay right Between the lines of fear and blame And you begin to wonder why you came Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life Let him know that you know best Cause after all you do know best Try to slip past his defense Without granting innocence Lay down a list of what is wrong The things you've told him all along And pray to God he hears you And pray to God he hears you Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life As he begins to raise his voice You lower yours and grant him one last choice Drive until you lose the road Or break with the ones you've followed He will do one of two things He will admit to everything Or he'll say he's just not the same And you'll begin to wonder why you came Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life

little children

mmmm...
Kate Winslet, i've loved her ever since 'heavenly creatures' and i love her more with every movie she makes... Fascinating story, about ... little children or the difficulties of growing up or letting go of the past...

lynch's freaky dream world

I won't tell more (basically cause i'm still trying to find out who's who and what's what) but go and see it. it's brilliant... and scared me to nightmares ;)

tyler durden

"We're the middle children of history, man.
No purpose or place.
We have no Great War.
No Great Depression.
Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives.
We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars.
But we won't.
And we're slowly learning that fact.
And we're very, very pissed off. "
Fight Club
Great movie, even better book...

happy 2007

Cherish the moment, cherish the key
That leads to sane insanity
Cherish incompetence, cherish me
Don't ever cherish somebody who
Keeps on searching for a thing sublime
When all you need is inside of you
Everybody's waiting for springtime
Well winter can be cozy too
'winter' by K's choice
hope you'll have a great superb year with everything you're heart desires. And if not, try to enjoy it afterall... Enjoy the amazing santa...

'don't trust him too much'

I got this card from a dear friend on saturday in the bilbo. and it's true. the only person you can trust is yourself, (and in my case: all my precious friends who are so supportive right now). I love you, every single weird one of you. you mean the world to me, and you know who you are...
